Project Description
The Maison Souvannaphoum is a glorious French colonial hotel on the banks of the Mekong in Laos. The hotel once belonged to Prime Minister Souvanna Phouma – hence the name, and gives guests a taste of royal life. Comcon’s role on this project is to take a leading part in the expansion and renovation of the existing hotel, making it an even more attractive venue than it already is.
Located in Luang Prabang, the hotel allows guests to stay in very spiritual surroundings where in the evening time Laotian monks can be heard chanting prayers. Maison Souvannaphoum is close to many excellent restaurants and these can easily be reached on foot or by bike. In its present form, the hotel is a magnificent blend of French colonial architecture with modern more refined features in all rooms making this a truly world-class hotel.
The hotel currently has excellent spa and conferencing facilities as well as offering wedding packages. The renovations will mean that the hotel can play an important role in attracting new visitors to Laos, not only from with ASEAN but the rest of the world.
Comcon will be assisting with engineering elements on this project acting more in a quantity surveying role whilst ensuring that all work is carried out to the high standards demanded by the hotel and, of course, ourselves. We will have a team on site who will be dedicated to ensuring that this project goes ahead without any glitches. Professionalism, as always will be at the top of our agenda.
We believe that being invited to work on this project and being chosen above other companies operating in the same field is further validation and proof, if it was required, of how respected we are as a company in Asia. We sincerely believe that Angsana has made the correct choice in allowing us to form a strong a professional partnership that we hope will last long into the future.
