This month has seen the start of construction and breaking ground of one of the Eastern Seaboards major developer’s new hotel. Nova Group, with over a dozen hotel properties in the region and a number of award winning condominium developments have appointed Comcon Group as their Project Management and Quantity Surveying consultants for the project.
The project itself, located in Naklua Soi 22, close to the pristine beaches in the area, comprises of 233 rooms, an amazing reception and lobby area, all day dining facilities as well as functions room, executive lounges, roof top pool and fitness as well as a kids play area.
This is the first time Nova Group have joined forces with Marriott, who have added their Courtyard brand to this property. With construction started the planned schedule is for the property to be ready and complete in a round 20 months. With Marriott not having a recognized property in the area after the rebranding of their existing property to Avani, this property will be a major factor in the operator’s steps to becoming re-established in area.
The site is around two rai and in a perfect location, if not somewhat quiet but with easy access to the new Terminal 21 Shopping center coming online soon and the more upmarket area of Naklua and Wongamat. Nova Group have pulled all the strings on this property and employed some of the best companies in Thailand to make sure the standards to as expected. The Interior Design works are being compiled by DWP, once of the best and well renowned consultants in Thailand and Asia. The architect is A35, well known in the Eastern Seaboard and with Comcon Group onboard as Project Management the project can look to be in safe hands.
The concept of the property from a design aspect is the sea, sand and movement. DWP have done an amazing job to date creating a flow and natural feel to the project with their colour schemes, use of pastel colours and natural materials throughout.
With the government’s plans over the coming years for the Eastern Seaboard with the infrastructure plans, increase In investment from overseas and within Thailand, the region has a positive outlook. This last year has seen the launch of a number of new condominium developments, showing the property and real estate marketing are coming back after a few slow years.
